Caramel MALTS

Description

Also called “Crystal Malt”, they are made from green malt. During the roasting period, the sugars are caramelized producing unique flavors, aromas and colors.

Characteristics

  • The low colors are dominated by a caramel, sweet and fresh flavor.
  • As roasting increases, the flavor becomes more complex, with more caramel intensity and adding notes of toffee and raisins.
  • In the higher colors there is an intense flavor of dried fruits, a slight roasted, characteristic sweet bitterness, and toasted bread.
